Who We Are

Michael Jacob, President

Michael is a Green Building Professional - certified by Build It Green - with over 29 years of experience in commercial and residential construction and construction management. He started Talia Developments, Inc in 1995 after many years in the corporate world of commercial construction. Michael held management-level field positions with Carl N. Swenson Co. of San Jose, CA and Hensel Phelps Construction Co. of Greeley, CO, building large-scale commercial, institutional and public projects.

An avid traveler, Michael observed sustainable and sufficient dwellings and communities on a self-guided 14-month bicycle trek through the South Pacific, South East Asia, and the Middle East in 1990-1991. He traveled again with his wife and daughter in South East Asia and South America in 2002-2003.

Michael co-developed Two Acre Wood, the first cohousing community in Sonoma County, where he now lives with his family.

Dan Young, Foreman

Dan has 32 years of experience in all phases of residential construction. He has had a general contractor's license since 1999 and has supervised Talia Developments projects since 2000. Dan owned and operated a custom cabinet shop for five years, fabricating high-end cabinetry and fine furniture in Berkeley, California.

Denise Meier, Office Manager

Denise has been managing Talia Developments' office operations since its inception. She has a background in computer programming, and currently does bookkeeping on a volunteer basis for several community organizations
